Greene County district court, week ending May 29

In Greene County district court Donna Rae Bridgeman, 49, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to a charge of public intoxication-third offense. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge.

The fine and surcharge were suspended, but Bridgeman must pay $90 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $129.80 court costs. The case was initiated in December 2013. A bench warrant was issued when Bridgeman failed to appear in February 2014. The warrant was returned May 18. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

A case in which Anthony David Rothmeyer, 45, Grand Junction was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana was dismissed on a motion of the court. Rothmeyer pleaded guilty to the charges by way of pleading guilty to parole violations in two other cases.

Nicole Lynn Johnson, 29, of Jefferson was sentenced to five years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of forgery. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for three years. She was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge. The fine and surcharge were suspended. Johnson must pay a $125 LEI surcharge and $180 restitution to Home State Bank. Johnson also changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. She was sentenced to 365 days in jail, concurrent to the prison term. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on probation for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. She was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. The fine and surcharge were suspended. She must pay a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE) and a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs totaled $300. Charges of possession of marijuana, nine counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs, child endangerment and two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance were dismissed. Marshall Raymond Estabrook, 38, of Des Moines was sentenced to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of burglary-third degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. Estabrook was fined $75 with a $262.50 surcharge, a $125 LEI surcharge and $47.60 restitution. He was sentenced to five years in prison, consecutive, on a second charge of burglary-third degree. That prison term was also suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. He was sentenced to two years in prison, consecutive, on a charge of possession of burglar’s tools. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs totaled $274.60. A companion case in magistrate court in which Estabrook was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty in district court as follows: Patrick Michael Kennedy, 30, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury and possession of marijuana; and Andrew Wayne Hall, 18, of Des Moines, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, theft-third degree, and false report to public entity. A trial date of July 21 was set for Kennedy and of Aug. 25 for Hall.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Courtney James Baugh, 35, of St Joseph, MO, has been charged with assault-serious. The warrant was issued Aug. 9, 2013, and returned May 13.

Cases were initiated in Greene County district court as follows: Christopher Herbert Lawrence, 35, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; Mark Andrew Duntz, 27, of Des Moines, possession of marijuana; Joshua Martinez, 31, of Ogden, assault-aggravated; and Shauna Carrie Allen, 28, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury.
